Super Tuesday Stats and What I think!!
Alright here’s a run down of how far these candidates have come.
Lets go with the Democrats first since their is only two of them.
Hillary Clinton has [AZ, AR, CA, MA, NJ,
Her victories in , and especially California were big. She proved that she doesn’t need Oprah to tell everyone who to vote for. White and Latino women and older people seem to really like Hillary and I think Obama better watch his step.
Barack Obama has [AK, AL, CO, CT, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, MO, MN, ND, UT]
Obama is really making progress in the south, crushing Hillary in Georgia. As of now he is winning with 13 states against Hillary’s 8 states–you do the math. Obama is still popular among African Americans, anyone in the south, and young people.
Here come the Republicans this gets kind of interesting:
John McCain has [AZ, CA, CT, DE, IL, MO, NJ, NY, OK]
His “big wins” include New York, California and even Oklahoma–the most conservative state. “McCain still clearly has a lot of work to do among die-hard conservatives, who remain distrustful of him, and divided betweenand .” – Yahoo News
Mitt Romney has [ AK, CO, MA, MN, MT, ND, UT]
Romney pulled out a few”less than small” wins in Massachusetts, Utah, and a few other easy states. With Huckabee still on his tale, I think Romney has a long hard fight ahead of him. He remains popular among……..ummmm…..who likes Romney anyway?
Mike Huckabee has [AL, AR, GA, TN, WV]
Huckabee took West Virginia after McCain supporters decided to vote for Huckabee so Romney wouldn’t win. Victories in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Missouri show that Huckabee is a favorite in the south. In order to stay in the game Huckabee is going to have to be more than just a regional favorite. An alternative would be for McCain to give Huckabee a few hundred thousand of his supporters so Romney doesn’t win. :-p
So, for the Democrats that puts Obama at the top with Hillary to follow:
Barack Obama with 13 States [ AK, AL, CO, CT, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, MO, MN, ND, UT]
Hillary Clinton with 8 States [ AZ, AR, CA, MA, NJ,, OK, TN]
And for the Republicans that puts McCain at top followed by Romney and finally Huckabee:
John McCain with 9 States [ AZ, CA, CT, DE, IL, MO, NJ, NY, OK]
Mitt Romney with 7 States [ AK, CO, MA, MN, MT, ND, UT]
Mike Huckabee with 5 States [AL, AR, GA, TN, WV]
Well, those are the stats, we still have a long way to go and these stats can change in the blink of an eye.
What do you have to say? 🙂
